My college brewery has closed it’s doors…to become a national brewery. It will be sad not to see the old SLO Brew name anymore. I saw many a great band there.

Since we opened our doors in 1988, SLO Brewing Company has provided locals on the Central Coast and visitors alike with a great place to come and enjoy good hand-crafted beer, food and live music.

Over the last few years, we have begun to focus on making the transition from being a local brewpub to being a nationally respected craft brewing company. Greater attention to detail and our continuing effort to create the best beers on the West Coast and beyond has yielded extensive national and world-wide acclaim — our beer now consistently ranks among the elite in the brewing industry. This success has fueled our desire to produce the best beer available in any market, and led to our recent accumulation of prestigious honors and awards. We couldn’t have done it without our Brewmaster consultant Matt Brynildson and our own Brewer Steve Couier.

SLO brew bottled beer was purchase by United States Beverage Co. in 2001. We have nothing to do with the bottled beer distribution or production. I think slo Brew bottles are now made in Pennsilvania.
