Guests at Britney Spears’ weekend wedding to Kevin Federline were only notified of the ceremony’s location 24 hours beforehand.
The singer and her dancer husband were keen to get married away from prying eyes, so sent out special invite letters on Friday, the day before they tied the knot.
And those family and friends lucky enough to be asked to attend received luxury gifts upon their arrival.
A source says, “The guests all got gift bags containing a pair of jeans, a packet of sweets called Chew Juicy, a pair of shoe laces and a silver teardrop key ring with an image of the happy couple cuddling inside.”
The couple managed to fool the press and wed quietly at the weekend by releasing phony marriage invites to a October 16 ceremony last week.
For the reception, Britney and Kevin opted for a bizarre clothing theme — white tracksuits with the words “The Pimp” and “Mrs. Federline” scrawled across their backs.
The happy couple and their small entourage donned all-white training clothes for the post-wedding party at a Los Angeles club, with ushers sporting the words “Pimps” and Spears’ bridesmaids wearing tops with “The Maids” printed on the rear.
Spears and Federline had earlier wed at pal Scott Hill’s house in front of 20 to 30 guests, including the pop star’s mum Lynne and sister Jamie Lynn — who dressed in pink tracksuits for the evening celebrations.
The pair — who announced their engagement in June after a three-month relationship — dined on chicken wings, barbecue ribs and hamburgers during their reception.
